Course content and structure
The “Social Entrepreneurship Project” elective introduces the practical aspect of social entrepreneurship by letting you design and execute real entrepreneurial projects rela ting to the needs of real social enterprises or social organisations.
At the start of the course, you are presented with a number of current social entrepreneurial, CSR or social innovation issues, from which the basis of your project idea emerges.  These will be  provided partially from the parallel taught theoretical course in social innovation and entrepreneurship. During the course, you receive insights into innovative start-up and (social) marketing theories, skills training, professional coaching and access to the Fellows Network of the Socionext Foundation to ensure that your projects materialize and create measurable returns and social impact.

The course has a strong focus on intercultural communication. Participants learn about the impact and importance of social entrepreneurship initiatives at home and abroad among others by connecting to entrepreneurs and students from Socionext’s partner organizations in South Africa (Studietrust and TSiBA).

This elective offers the opportunity to actively implement the social entrepreneurship principles learned in the tandem elective (SEIC-T) “Social Entrepreneurship and Innovation Theory” (or otherwise acquired). Together these two electives provide the participant with the introductory theoretical knowledge and basic practical skills needed for an aspiring social entrepreneur, CSR manager or socially responsible entrepreneur or enterprise owner.
Teaching methods
Students partake in interactive project development lectures provided by an experienced course mentor, project development group work outside class and advisory meetings with volunteer coach.
