Learning objectives
At the end of the course, the students must be able to:
  • Understand the general dynamics of the maritime industry and apply the analytical tools from the syllabus to examine the challenges of the industry
  • Explain the most important theories in Maritime Economics and illustrate the analytical insights from the literature with empirical examples from cases
  • Apply the principles of maritime trade, charteing practices and its contracts
  • Conduct a critical evaluation of different theories from the curriculum and explain the relevance of compared to a case

Examination form Oral exam based on written product

In order to participate in the oral exam, the written product must be handed in before the oral exam; by the set deadline. The grade is based on an overall assessment of the written product and the individual oral performance.

Exam period December/January and Winter Term, The regular examination takes place in December. The make-up and retake examination takes place in January.

Re-examination when the regular examination is failed is a 20 minutes individual oral exam based upon the same group project with a 2 pages supplement.

Make-up examination when ill at the oral exam is a 20 minutes individual oral exam based upon the same group project.

Make-up examination when ill during the writing of the project is a 20 minutes individual oral exam with 20 minutes preparation in the entire curriculum.
