Course content and structure
Progression through the three internships
The three internships will train the student in the role of "reflective interns". This means that on one hand they will particpate in the busienss related issues and on the other hand reflects upon the concrete organizational, professional, theoretic and personal opportunities and conditions for the problem solving. The internships will provide the students with a strong professional foundation and network upon which they can build the further carrier and personal development.

The course of internship consists of three internships preferably in the same company, which will permit the students to gradually develop an understanding of the different aspect of the shipping company. Each internship will have a main focus, which will ensure a progressivity during all three internships.

Internship I: Holistic Knowledge
The purpose of the first 3 months of internship is to introduce the student to the daily life of a relevant maritime company. The students has just finished courses as "Operations and Logistics Management", "Risk Management" and "Trade Finance" and thus the main focus is that the student learn how all these different aspects are a part of the bigger picture in the company. The student must gain a holistic perspective of the company and how the theories learned at CBS might be applied. It is during this internship that the student first must experience the limit of theoretical works on practical issues, within one or two different departments. The students will after three months be capable of applying the relevant theories from the bachelor program in a practical context. The student must demonstrate a problem-oriented mindset in order to identify the challenges in a shipping company.
