Learning objectives |
To achieve the grade 12, students
should meet the following learning objectives with no or only minor
mistakes or errors: In the end of this course, the students should
be able to:
- Show a theoretical and practical mastery of the central
concepts, approaches and paradigms associated with the actions of
organizations and the members of organizations
- Show an understanding of the historical development of the
study of organizations, and the implications this has for the
validity of our current understanding of organizational
processes
- Use theories and concepts as tool to analyze concrete cases and
situations
- Refine a personal understanding of what organizational change
is, that is to say what changes during organizational change
- Understand how social, cultural and economic factors interact
in organizational settings

Course prerequisites |
Academic qualifications and
limitations: The students must document a level in English equal to
TOEFL 575 and a level in mathematics equal to Danish level B.
Expected participation rate is 200 hours during the course
including readings and discussion group participation outside
class. |

Oral exam based on written product
In order to participate in the oral exam, the written product
must be handed in before the oral exam; by the set deadline. The
grade is based on an overall assessment of the written product and
the individual oral performance. |

The make-up/re-exam will be held as
a 4 day home assignment. There is a strict maximum length of 10
pages.

Course content and
structure |
The primary aim of the course to acquaint the student with
contemporary perspectives on how organizations act and how
organizations impact the actions of organizational members. The
course also seeks to use case material that is relevant to
organizations, allowing the student to see how various theories and
methodological traditions can be used to generate insight into
organizations.
