Course content and structure

The course provides knowledge of theories and practices leading to execution of sustainable practices in service corporations. Introducing general concepts related to the balancing of economics, ecology, politics, and culture on a societal level, the course provides models and theories of sustainable organizational structures, and suggests ways to implement strategic actions that result in (measurable) sustainable business practices. The course will enable students to understand, describe, and critically examine methods and models aiming to development, implement, and evaluate sustainable practices, including internal aspects of business governance and ethics, employee engagement,  consciousness of costs, control of resources, and growth strategies, as well as external aspects related to practices towards customers, the community, and society at large. The relationship between theory and practice will be sharpened through case studies.
