  • Be able to formulate working assumptions based on a (proper) problem formulation
  • Identify and choose relevant theories for analytic purposes

  • Research management as a key to predict and plan capacity

  • Learn how to choose relevant qualitative methodologies, or combined with quantitative methods

Teaching methods
The course is taught through a combination of lectures, seminars and case-studies. Thorough preparation and in-class participation is expected.
The readings, exercises, and tests will make you familiar with the various methods within social research so that you can better decide which of the tools are the best suited for your field of interest.
The learning approach is based on student practice: the theory must be applied during and/or between the sessions.
Feedback during the teaching period
Tests will be offered online so you can make self-assessments underway.
The self-study works as a peer-reviewed ‘mock exam’. We encourage you to write as much as possible to train your written proficiency.
We apply a peer learning principle. This means we encourage you to upload and share your products for inspiration and discussion.
