Learning Objectives | |||||
The aim of the workshops is, besides training the application of the theories and principles presented in the lectures, to develop students’ capacity and confidence in reading academic texts and in writing papers and assignments. The workshops parallel to the lectures will introduce students to academic genres, standards and demands; train neutral description, summaries, comparisons and analyses. | |||||

Course Content | |||||
Module 1 focuses on basic theories and concepts in communication studies. The course, module 1, provides an introduction to basic theories and concepts in communication studies. Topics will include: · Communication theories and models. · Basic constituents of the communicative act: sender, message and receiver. · Advanced constituents and models. · General communicative forms: mass communication and interpersonal communication. · Communicative processes: an act of transmission or an act of constitution. · Text-context: symbols, what they refer to and how we interpret them. | |||||
