Examination
The exam consists of two partial exams:

(1) an individual written mid-term home assignment, max. 6 standard-pages, graded on the 7-point scale by the teacher and external examiner and counting one third of the overall grade, and

(2) an individual written 24-hour home assignment, max. 10 standard pages, graded by teacher and external examiner on the 7-point grading scale and counting two thirds of the overall grade.

Make-up exam when ill during the writing of the mid-term paper and re-exam when the ordinary exam is failed is a new paper on a different topic assigned by the teacher in January.

Make-up exam when ill during the writing of the 24-hour home assignment and re-exam when the ordinary exam is failed is an individual written 4-hour closed book exam. It is allowed to bring basic language dictionaries (e.g. Danish/English and English/Danish) to the exam. It is not allowed to bring specialized dictionaries (e.g. English/Danish dictionary on financial terms). Pocket calculators are not allowed.
Course content
The course has its main focus on central concepts, theories, and debates in political science in a comparative perspective. It covers political institutions, processes, actors, and ideas in selected countries as well as theories about how political systems work at the national and international levels. The course also introduces students to interdisciplinary perspectives to the study of international business and politics. The course consists of lectures, tutorials, and written home-assignments.
Teaching methods
Lectures with discussions for entire class.
Tutorials with group work in clusters of 20 students (4-5 groups of 4-5 students). Assignments are handed out in advance of tutorials; groups prepare oral and power-point presentations of answers.
Individual written home assignments - 3-5 pages.
