Course content and structure
The course introduces students to the field of innovation and entrepreneurship. In this course we will discuss the characteristics of innovative firms and the entrepreneurial individuals behind them. Thereby we will develop an understanding of the effects of how individual and firm background, as well as networks and collaboration, affect innovation and entrepreneurship. We will study effects of team composition and social networks for collaboration outcomes on individual and firm level. Further, we will scrutinize how firms profit from their innovations and stay competitive through business model innovation. Finally, we will address the topic of entrepreneurship from different perspectives: we will study the characteristics of successful entrepreneurs, and we will engage in exercises simulating entrepreneurial activities.
