Learning objectives |
To achieve the grade 12, students
should meet the following learning objectives with no or only minor
mistakes or errors: Aim of the course is to provide a real-life
experience in the form of a consulting report, researched and
written by a team of junior consultants (students). The student
should apply the analytical skills acquired during the first year
on a problem of relevance to a company or an organisation.
The business project is written in the course of one month. The
project takes place in May/June. Groups are formed of two or three
students. The size of the project must not exceed 30 pages for
groups of 2. For groups of 3 the size of the project must not
exceed 45 pages. The department provides each group with a
supervisor.
The aim of the course is to:
- provide the participants with an in-depth knowledge in a
specified problem area in finance, economics, and/or corporate
strategy
- apply concepts and analytical skills acquired during the first
year of graduate study to a specific problem
- train the participants with respect to writing a report that
follows academic standards and clearly communicates the problem and
the analysis within a limited time period based on
teamwork

Description of the exam
procedure
The project is conducted in groups over a period of 1 month with
2 or 3 students per group. For groups of 2 the report must not
exceed 30 standard pages excluding appendices. For groups of 3
the report must not exceed 45 standard pages excluding
appendices. As each student receives an individual grade, each
group member must identify the exam sections he/she has authored.
The deadline for handing in the project is in June and will be
announced by the programme secretary. If the student was ill during
the exam period or did not pass the regular exam a new project must
be handed in to a new deadline in September/October
Make-up/re-exam will take place in the Fall with a report
submission deadline in October. If the student did not pass the
regular exam, a new or a revised project, cf. advice from the
examiner of the ordinary exam, must be handed in by the new
deadline.
* if a student is absent from the oral exam due to documented
illness but has handed in the written group product she/he does not
have to submit a new product for the re-take. However the
group product must be uploaded once again on Digital Exam.
* if a whole group fails the oral exam they must hand in a
revised product for the re-take.
* if one student in the group fails the oral exam the course
coordinator chooses whether the student will have the oral exam on
the basis of the same product or if he/she has to hand in a revised
product for the re-
take.
