Learning objectives
To achieve the grade 12, students should meet the following learning objectives with no or only minor mistakes or errors: The aim of the course is to enable students to
  • comprehend the whole system of intellectual property law and related legal branches;
  • select and apply the rules relevant to creative business processes;
  • analyze legal problems in specific contexts in order to manage the legal risks involved.

Description of the exam procedure

At the oral exam the student must demonstrate a comprehensive knowledge and understanding of topics, theories and methods that have been delt with during the course.

Course content and structure

The course will give an understanding of the basic principles and structures of mainly private law, from a European perspective, related to creative business processes in order to choose and assess the appropriate legal structure for business transactions. The course covers the various parts of intellectual property law and related legal branches relevant to creative business processes namely copyright law but also design law, trademark law, unfair competition law, contract law and personality rights.The course includes two voluntary home assignments.

Teaching methods
Teaching takes place mainly in large classes and consists of a mixture of dialog-based lectures, presentations, discussions and assignments/cases.
