Description of the exam
procedure
As this course is partnered with the Supply Chain
Management course, students have two options in choosing their
assignment.
Option 1:
Write an assignment with a
supply chain angle, where one of the
discussed issues has to be on social responsibility.
Option 2:
Write an assignment with
a social responsibility angle, whereone of the discussed
issues has to be on supply change management.
Particularly for Option 2, the
assignment has to fulfil these elements:
-
Among the many issues discussed, at least one of them
has to be a supply chain management challenge.
- Provide a 'social responsibility' mapping of a firm,
using the frameworks offered in the course.
- Your mapping should address relevant fundamental issues
discussed in the course, for example, challenges in bringing
different stakeholders agendas and interests together, the moral
limits of the market, and difficulties in prioritizing values.
- The assignment should carry your reflections on and evaluation
of the company's 'social responsibility' strategy (or
the lack of such a strategy).
- You are encouraged to use your own company as the case. If you
are not using your own company, you can refer to a company that you
have knowledge of, e.g. a previous workplace, intimate knowledge
from other people or detailed desk research.
- In your conclusion, state the lessons learned from your
analysis.
- You are also expected to demonstrate your ability to find
relevant and appropriate information on the chosen issues from
credible sources.
