Course content and structure |
The internship will train the student in the role of a
"reflective intern". This means that on one hand the
student will participate in supply chain, logistics and business
related issues and on the other hand reflects upon the concrete
professional, organizational, theoretical and personal aspects and
conditions for practical problem solving. The internships will
provide the students with a strong professional foundation and
network upon which they can build their career and personal
development.
The purpose of the internship is to introduce the student to
global logistics and/or supply chain management in practice.
Furthermore, the student will learn how to work professionally in
an organization. The student must gain a holistic perspective of
the company in supply chains and demonstrate how the theories
learned in their tri-continental program can be applied. During the
internship, the student will experience the usefulness of
theoretical concepts and tools and at the same time, the
limitations of theory when applied to practical issues. The
student must demonstrate a problem-oriented mindset in order to
identify the challenges in a company dealing with practical
logistics and/or SCM.
The student must participate in a proactive way in the daily
life of the company. The intern report should demonstrate ability
to argue for choice of theories, methods, and empirical data. There
should be a clear structure for the analysis including
understanding of the strength and weaknesses of the analysis. In
addition to the conclusion, there must be a separate section with
recommendation for practice. During the internship there will
be a feedback session with CBS peers and course
responsible.
