Course content and structure

Gender equality and diversity in organizations is a widely-debated topic in society at large and within organizations. This block seminar aims at providing the students with an introductory immersion to the field of gender and diversity management through both academic literature and practice. The seminar responds to demographic changes in society and anticipates future cultural shifts, which demand gender and diversity sensitive managers who are internationally focused, and capable of dealing with complexity. Through lectures, case study discussions, company presentations, independent study, and group assignments including a real gender and diversity business case project, students will learn about how diversity, with its multiple dimensions such as gender, race/ethnicity, age, sexual orientation, disability, and religion/belief, is a process and resource to be leveraged to develop a competitive organisation or business.
