Digital business – value, framing and facilitation

 

The course is offered as both an online and on campus course.

 

The course is structured in three related sections.

 

- Firstly, the students are introduced to the different forms of value and corresponding digital innovations that can enable a digital business.

- Secondly, the course then builds on this to introduce the different models and strategies for framing digital business.

- Lastly, the importance of internal capabilities and external partnerships and how they can be leveraged, are introduced to the participants.

 

Summarily, the course takes students on a journey from the creation of value from digital innovations, to the formulation of a business around the value proposition, and then to the internal capabilities and external resources required to facilitate the digital business. The course comprises on specific aspects of digital business as follow:

 

When attending the class on campus:

1. Course overview and Introduction to digital business

2. Digital innovation and emerging innovations

3. Disruptive innovation and digital disruption

4. Digital business models

5. Invited guests: Leveraging digitalization

6. Digital business strategy

7. Digital business capabilities

8. Digital business ecosystems


When attending the class as an online student:

 

1. Interactive introduction and first session by  Abayomi Baiyere

2 – 4 and 6 – 8: Online learning resources (Videos and readings) followed by independent group work

5. Interactive workshop by Abayomi Baiyere

9. Interactive workshop including exam preparation by Abayomi Baiyere
