Course content, structure and pedagogical approach | ||||||||||||||||||||||
The course will examine factors shaping opportunities for innovation in biobusiness, and the business implications of those opportunities. The theme of strategy choices emphasize alternatives faced by both established and emerging bio-firms and the relevant tools for strategic decision. The course will be structured around managerial challenges firms face in the biotech, pharmaceutical and medical equipment sector. Key topics will include:

Description of the teaching methods | ||||||||||||||||||||||
Teaching includes lecture-style classes, in-class workshops with students presenting and actively participating in discussions around pre-assigned cases and/or exercises, and guest presentations by academics and practitioners. Preparation before class is of crucial importance. | ||||||||||||||||||||||
Feedback during the teaching period | ||||||||||||||||||||||
Students will regularly receive feedback during presentations in class, through interactive quizzes and peer grading of mock exams. | ||||||||||||||||||||||
