D) If a student has not handed in anything for the ordinary exam, he/she will hand in a report for the re-exam.
Beskrivelse af eksamensforløbet

Throughout the semester students will work in larger case groups of students consisting of one or more exam groups to promote group discussion and the generation of ideas - however, the exam synopsis will be handed in in smaller exam groups as described above.

The oral exam
The student makes a short oral presentation of approximately 3 minutes on the synopsis at the examination. The student may bring the synopsis and notes in the form of key words, which is not to exceed more than one A4 page. The examiner can ask clarifying questions during the presentation. Building on the presentation, the examination then takes the form of a discussion between the student and the examiner

Kursets indhold, forløb og pædagogik

The aim of this course is to provide students with:

  • relevant theories, concepts and models within the field of organisational theory and organisational behavior,
  • perspectives and models related to the design of organisational structures,
  • theoretical and practical knowledge about how organisations communicate internally and with the external environment, and how they organise themselves in order to communicate more effectively (as well as for other organisational purposes), and
  • the ability to critically reflect on the theories, concepts and models and their relevance in describing, analysing and evaluating issues of organisation and corporate communication in relation to companies and organisations.

The course focuses on two main fields:

  • Organisational theory
  • Corporate communication
Beskrivelse af undervisningsformer
The course is based on lectures, discussions and group work. It will include video-recorded online lectures, interactive sessions face to face or online as well as case presentations. Each lecture is completed with a mini-assignment with focus on application of concepts and theories.

To prepare for the exam, students thus have the opportunity to collect a portfolio of mini assignments or so-called 'deliveries' :
Students will be assigned to a group/case and are expected to make deliveries based on given themes/issues related to their case (i.e. leadership, power, organisational design, communication/culture/change management) .
The delivery is in the form of one A-4 paper which has to be uploaded on CANVAS following the exercise/group work session. The delivery can be used in the final written product.
Feedback i undervisningen
During the course, group assignments ‘deliveries‘ (oral and written) allow students to test their knowledge and get feedback on theories and their application to corporate CASEs. The assignments completed in class are uploaded on Canvas (A-4 page(s)) for the whole class to demonstrate findings and enable comparison across cases. Feedback is given to the entire class, showing good examples and pointing to typical mistakes.

Feedback is also provided in class and online and requires class participation.
