Course content, structure and pedagogical approach

This is an introductory statistics course with a focus on data analysis. We begin with the essential concepts that are necessary for understanding data analysis, such as probability and their distributions. We then cover sampling, confidence intervals, hypothesis testing, analysis of variance, correlation, and linear regression analysis.

Topics that will be covered include probability concepts, probability distributions, sampling distributions, confidence intervals, hypothesis testing, two group comparisons, Regression Analysis and analysis of Variance (ANOVA).
Description of the teaching methods
Lectures and exercises. The class meetings are interactive and require ongoing engagement of the students.
Feedback during the teaching period
A midterm assessment will be administered via Canvas. The format will be similar to that of the 4-hour Ordinary Exam administered at the end of the course.
