Course content, structure and pedagogical approach This course introduces participants to the fundamentals of Corporate Finance. The topics covered are critical for understanding and analyzing the many financial issues that face modern firms. The topics include, how to evaluate investment decisions, how to balance risk versus return, how to use different sources of financing, how to obtain the cost of capital, etc. The course also covers corporate governance, payout practices, international corporate finance, risk management, mergers and acquisition, etc. In covering the material the course combines popular applied financial methodologies with practical examples and case studies. The course will primarily take a financial management perspective and concentrate on the application of concepts.

The course is structured in sessions, where each session is focusing on a specific topic. The course has diverse teaching methods using lectures, cases, readings and discussions. The class meetings are interactive and require ongoing engagement of the students. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

Feedback will occur periodically in the course
via in-class problem solving, one-to-one dialogue in lectures and
breaks, regular case discussions, following presentation of
groupwork on assigned topics, and by individual student request.
The evaluation At the evaluation unit at CBS’s Economic & Analysis department we ask you to evaluate the overall course. In other words if there has been exercise classes and lectures the evaluation should include both. We evaluate every course and faculty to secure and strengthen the professional level of the offered course. |
