Learning objectives
The objective of the course is for students to gain insight into their competencies and skills in order to prepare them to re-enter the job market after the MBA. The course introduces students to a range of tools that can be applied in their job search process. To pass the course, students should meet the following learning objectives:
  • Identify core competencies and skills and apply them to a specific job role
  • Create and execute a job search strategy for a given market
  • Present a personal pitch in a clear, concise and insightful manner
  • Identify and use the best tools and materials to use in your job search and execute, such as CV, Cover Letter and testing tools
  • Provide and receive peer-to-peer feedback on pitch, CV, cover letter, or other career related tools
  • Conduct a mock interview for a chosen target role

Description of the exam procedure

The final evaluation is an individual written home assignment. 

 

The best way to prepare for the exam is to attend all of the sessions, to read all assigned material before class, and to discuss and analyze the material both in the study groups and in class.

Course content, structure and pedagogical approach

This course blends a variety of pedagogical methods. You learn through interactive lectures combined with discussions, guest lectures, and group workshops. The workshops will be conducted in a participative manner. The participants’ own experience can often be a useful source for adding to the common understanding, and is therefore integrated in the workshops.

Description of the teaching methods
Group sessions
Each module has an online component. Students are expected to go through the material for each module in preparation for group sessions.

Individual Sessions
Individual sessions must also be prepared for and reflections sent to the Career Coach 48 hours in advance via email. If preparatory work is not completed, the meeting will be canceled. This preparation will differ depending on the session objective.
