A new exam assignment must be answered. This applies to all students (failed, ill, or otherwise). A new due date is set by the programme administration.
Description of the exam procedure

The exam will ask you to address two questions from a pre-set list of 6 questions.

 

 
Course content, structure and pedagogical approach

The course gives students factual and theoretical knowledge of selected cases of business challeges, business strategies and international business regulation. The theoretical approaches are discussed and compared based on their inherent theoretical strengths and weaknesses as well as their practical relevance. 

 

The specific content and structure varies from year to year and is presented in the course plan on Canvas. The course provides a multifaceted understanding of the role of business in global governance from both a business and a societal perspective.

Description of the teaching methods
Lectures and discussions of topics from the readings. The teaching philosophy balances classical education in the forms of lectures that impart knowledge and participatory education, in the form of a participatory lecturing style that encourages student involvement, responsibility and creativity.

In general, there will be 2x10 minute prerecorded lectures and 1 live lecture in each class. The live lecture will be limited to 20 minute rounds followed by 15 minutes of group work and 15 minutes of discussion. You will be divided into breakout rooms in which you will be responsible to address pre-set questions. The mandatory quiz questions will be selected from those pre-set questions to be posted on canvas.

This course emphasizes applied knowledge in the context of big questions that are relevant to business and society today. This means that when making arguments you will need to provide illustrations for the main points that you make using real-world examples from the world of business in society.

The course seeks to offer feedback wherever feasible.

Lectures and classes will provide extensive opportunities for questions. Please feel free to take full advantage of the online ‘office hours’ offered by full-time staff members, although these can never be a substitute for participation in lectures and classes.

We also encourage you to ask questions or make comments in class and form self-study groups to secure peer feedback on your work.

Critically, there will be a multiple choice quiz in week 17 in which you will be asked to answer 5 questions from a list of 10. The questions will be posted in advance.

Also, on week 12 you will submit a 2 page literature review answering a question from a list of 5 questions dealing with the weeks 6-11. This will be peer graded based on a grid provided by the instructor. The instructor will provide collective feedback as well.
