Course content, structure and pedagogical approach

The course takes place in Mainland China or Taiwan at one of two CBS partner institutions: Beijing International Studies University (BISU) and Mandarin Training Center (MTC).

Students will be tested for placement into a correct level of classes in the simplified characters. It is important that students prepare for and take the individual placement tests when offered.

It is the host university, which reserves the right to ultimately place the students in courses based upon the results of individual entry level tests. As a result, it is possible that students may be placed at courses at a level lower than what is required for Propaedeutics D. Immediately after placement, these students need to inform SB-IBA@cbs.dk as well as the course coordinator. The course coordinator will provide guidance (information about additional material, sources, learning activities, etc.) on how to prepare for the retake in Propaedeutics D at CBS in August.

At BISU, students will need to get into Intermediate level in order to pass the course. At lower levels, the student will not fullfill the learning objectives.

At MTC, CBS students are tested upon arrival but will be together in the same class, where the level will be approved by CBS.

Description of the teaching methods
The course is not taught at CBS, as all language teaching will take place at the host universities in Beijing and Tapei.
Feedback during the teaching period
All in class feedback takes place at the host university.
