Description of the exam
procedure
Throughout the semester students will work in larger case groups
of students consisting of one or more exam groups to promote
group discussion and the generation of ideas - however, the
exam synopsis will be handed in in smaller exam groups as described
above.
The oral exam
The student makes a short oral presentation of approximately 3
minutes on the synopsis at the examination. The student may bring
the synopsis and notes in the form of key words, which is not to
exceed more than one A4 page. The examiner can ask clarifying
questions during the presentation. Building on the presentation,
the examination then takes the form of a discussion between the
student and the
examiner

Course content, structure and pedagogical
approach |
The aim of this course is to provide students with:
- relevant theories, concepts and models within the field of
organisational theory and organisational behavior,
- perspectives and models related to the design of organisational
structures,
- theoretical and practical knowledge about how organisations
communicate internally and with the external environment, and how
they organise themselves in order to communicate more effectively
(as well as for other organisational purposes), and
- the ability to critically reflect on the theories, concepts and
models and their relevance in describing, analysing and evaluating
issues of organisation and corporate communication in relation to
companies and organisations.
The course focuses on two main fields:
- Organisational theory
- Corporate communication
Furthermore, the course will complement the knowledge from the
course -
International Business and Sustainability through a joint
case.
|
Description of the teaching methods |
The course is based on lectures, discussions and
group work in the form of case work and case presentations.
Students will be assigned to a group/case and are expected to
present case analyses and findings to their fellow students in
class. A class discussion will follow the case presentations.
The case presentation (max 5 PP slides) are to be uploaded on
CANVAS before the relevant session. The case analysis can be used
in the final written product. |
Feedback during the teaching period |
During the course, case analyses, presentations
and discussions allow students to test their learning, and to get
feedback from the instructor and peers on theories and
organizational/leadership practice.
Feedback is also provided in class and online, and class
participation is strongly encouraged. |
