Course prerequisites
The Internship option is only available to students within the French, German and Spanish language track at BLC.

The internship must be with a firm or an organization located in a region and country where the second foreign language (French, German, Spanish) is the main language.

The internship must be preapproved before you can begin the internship.

Attach the form and documentation as one pdf-file and name it "Application for pre-approval of internship_your name"​ and send the application to internship-appli@cbs.dk

The pre-approval contract must include a written agreement with the internship organization that document that the internship organization will host the intern, that as a minimum stipulates the tasks to be performed, time and hours of internship, and an internship organization contact person and supervisor.

The duration of the internship must be at least two months and at least 25 working hours per week, at least 225 hours.

The student must have an academic project supervisor from whom s/he is eligible for supervision.Your supervisor must speak the second language in which your oral exam are conducted (area studies supervisor).

In order to participate in the oral exam, the written product must be handed in before the oral exam; by the set deadline. The grade is based on an overall assessment of the written product and the individual oral performance, see also the rules about examination forms in the programme regulations.

Description of the exam procedure

The internship report serves as a basis for the individual, oral exam where the student starts out by giving a brief presentation. The examiners can ask questions based on the entire literature used in internship report.

 

The exam is conducted in the language that is to be assessed, which is the student's second language (French, German or Spanish). The grade is based on an overall assessment of the internship report and the oral performance. In the assessment of oral performance, the students' communicative skills in the second language are emphasized.  

 

The purpose of the exam is to test the student's:

  1. ability to communicate fluently with a varied vocabulary and without errors that impede communication.

ability to understand, analyze and critically reflect over key aspects of the field and context of the internship organization using theories and concepts from the chosen literature.  

Course content, structure and pedagogical approach

The student is eligible for 5 hours of supervision by an area studies supervisor.

Description of the teaching methods
The purpose of the supervision is to assist the student in identifying and applying literature and theory relevant to analyze and understand the organization/firm of the internship and its context.
Feedback during the teaching period
Feedback is given by the supervisor in the allotted supervision hours and at the oral exam.

Expected literature

The internship report must be based on at least 100 pages curriculum in French, German or Spanish. The curriculum must be agreed upon by the supervisor within one months of the commencement of the internship.
