Description of the exam
procedure
Research question
A preliminary problem statement of 1-2 pages should be prepared
and must include:
- Description of the problem area (What is the challenge/dilemma
and for whom?);
- Formulation of the research question, and sub-questions, if
any;
- A statement of the theories and models that will be applied;
and
- A description of how the student(s) will methodologically
approach the problem.
Supervision
A faculty member associated with the program will serve as the
project supervisor. The supervisor will be assigned by the course
coordinator.
Supervision is given to all groups. Please see the hours of
supervision below based on group size:
2-4 students = 6 hours
1 student = 3 hours
Supervision will focus on discussion of the final research question
and application of theory. The supervisor is not required to read
drafts of all parts of the report, but it is important that
students receive feedback from the supervisor on some of their
analyses along the way. It is the student’s responsibility to
contact the supervisor and to take responsibility for the
supervision process.
