.

The student must prepare a project report with a specific Economics & Business Administration problem based on the academic internship period. The assessment is an expression of a holistic assessment of the academic content as well as the language or communicative skills.

The report should follow an academic structure with an introduction and research question, literature review, data and methods section, analysis, conclusion. The report must use appropriate academic referencing. It should include an appendix summarizing the collected data and reflections on academic skills learned during the internship, as well as a discussion of the internship in relation to further studies and career goals.

The project report can be prepared in Danish or English.

Course content, structure and pedagogical approach

The purpose of an academic internship course is to combine theory with professional practice learning experience in a company/organization that works with problems of relevance to the Cand.merc. in Economics and Business Administration (CM.EBA) core areas. Ultimately, the course should enable the student to critically reflect on the internship experience from the perspective of the knowledge acquired on a CM.EBA. study programme.

The academic internship course spans 10-12 weeks, requiring 32-37 hours per week. Students apply acquired knowledge in a company/organization, collect relevant empirical data, and reflect on their practical experience. Concurrently, they prepare an academic project report.

The student must find a CBS supervisor and establish a contract with a relevant company/organization to facilitate the preparation of the project report.

Before the internship starts, a preliminary overview of the internship project must be submitted to the academic supervisor. Specific schedules are discussed with the supervisor. It is a requirement to collect relevant data/information for the report during the internship and to update the supervisor on this development, so that the necessary information is collected for an academic exploration in the internship report.

Internship cannot be carried out in your own company or in a company where you are employed.

Description of the teaching methods
The purpose of the academic supervision is to ensure that the internship relates to relevant theoretical and empirical problems within the study area of Economics & Business Administration.
Feedback during the teaching period
Feedback is given in connection with supervision.
Student workload
Academic internship and exam 406 hours
Supervision 6 hours
The course in total 412 hours

Expected literature

The curriculum must be agreed upon with the supervisor.
