  • Formulate a research question related to the internship organization;
  • Identify and review literature from the BLC study programme relevant to understand and analyze key aspects of the internship organization and its field;
  • Apply theories and concepts from the chosen literature to the field and context of the internship organization to arrive at a conclusion to the research question;
  • Describe the research methodology and reflect critically over its strengths and limitations;
  • Critically assess the relevance and applicability of the applied theories and concepts to the internship organization
  • Demonstrate appropriate academic writing skills, including: correct referencing, clear argumentation, and correct usage and definition of key concepts.
Course prerequisites
International Internship will replace 15 ECTS of elective courses, and must be combined with the Business Study Report (15 ECTS).

The internship must be with a firm or an organization located in a country other than Denmark.

The internship must be preapproved before you can begin the internship.

Attach the form and documentation as one pdf-file and name it "Application for pre-approval of internship_your name"​ and send the application to internship-appli@cbs.dk

The pre-approval contract must include a written agreement with the internship organization that documents that the internship organization will host the intern, that as (a minimum) stipulates a) tasks to be performed, b) period and hours of internship, c) daily working hours, and d) internship organization contact person and supervisor.

The duration of the internship must be at least two months and at least 25 working hours per week, at least 225 hours.

The student must have an academic project supervisor from whom s/he is eligible for supervision.

Course content, structure and pedagogical approach

The student is eligible for 5 hours of supervision by a supervisor. The supervisor does not have to have competence in the Second Language Area.

At an early stage after the commencement of the internship, a preliminary outline of the internship report should be handed in to the supervisor. Specific timelines are discussed with the supervisor. It is a must to collect relevant data/information for the report during the course of the internship and to update the supervisor on these developments, making sure the necessary information is collected for an academic exploration in the internship report.

Description of the teaching methods
The purpose of the supervision is to assist the student in identifying and applying literature and theory relevant to analyze and understand the organization/firm of the internship and its context.

The internship report must be based on at least 600 pages curriculum.
