Course content, structure and pedagogical approach

The course provides students with theoretical frameworks to understand the global strategy of multinational enterprises (MNEs), with a particular emphasis on their cross-border networks across both market and non-market domains. These networks include internal structures, such as geographically dispersed teams and subsidiaries, as well as external linkages, such as global value chains and relationships with host country politicians and regulators. While leveraging these networks is vital for sustaining an MNE's competitive advantage, their management involves navigating complex challenges, particularly in relation to sustainability and geopolitics. Through this course, students will gain the tools to analyze the formation and management of diverse cross-border networks and their strategic implications for MNEs operating in a globalized environment.
