| This course explores how global firms navigate an
increasingly complex international environment shaped by
geopolitical tensions, shifting economic power, and evolving
regulatory frameworks. It bridges international business strategy

students will learn how governments, international organisations,

At the completion of this course, Students will be able to:

This course introduces students to theories of global strategy, drawing on insights from international political economy to explain how firms engage with and operate in a world shaped by geopolitical shifts and policy uncertainty. It develops the ability to analyze how internationally active and operating firms (e.g., Multinational Enterprises) navigate diverse political and institutional contexts, and how the global distribution of power and regulation influences strategic choices. Building on prior international business and strategy courses, this course emphasizes the intersection between firm-level strategy and global governance. Through case studies and applied discussions, it illustrates how strategic management decisions are shaped by geopolitical dynamics, including trade conflicts, technological rivalry, and economic sanctions. |
