The student’s spelling and writing skills are taken into consideration in the overall assessment of the examination performance, but the academic content is given the highest weight.
Regulations regarding the summary An abstract (max. one page) written in English must be part of the Master’s thesis. The abstract is included in the overall assessment of the thesis.
Examiner(s) Internal examiner and external examiner
Exam period Summer

If the student has submitted their thesis, but is ill at the oral defense, a new defense will be arranged as soon as possible based on the thesis already submitted.
If the student receives a non-passing grade at the regular exam, they have used an exam attempt. It is then a requirement that the Master’s Thesis contract is renewed, i.e. the student must further clarify their original topic delimitation, which must then be approved by the thesis coordinator.
Course content, structure and pedagogical approach

The thesis project addresses one or more interrelated problems in the development and/or delivery of a specific healthcare innovation. It presents data and analysis of these problems, proposes and justifies a prioritization of potential solutions, and evaluates the advantages and disadvantages of the preferred solution.

The data collection and analysis of this problem solving are informed by relevant academic literature on methods, theories, frameworks, and concepts. The thesis demonstrates how this literature supports the handling of the identified innovation challenges and discusses the chosen methods and theoretical approaches in relation to relevant alternatives.

Whenever possible, the thesis project is conducted in collaboration with innovation practitioners, typically within a relevant organization in the healthcare system.

The main objectives of the thesis project are to enable students to apply and integrate the knowledge and skills acquired during the previous 90 ECTS credits of the programme; to develop their ability to define and address well-defined problems; and to strengthen their capacity to engage with and collaborate effectively with relevant problem owners.
