Some organizations struggle to make the smallest changes to their IT portfolio; projects constantly exceed deadlines and budgets. Other organizations gain huge competitive edges with strategic use of IT and through mastery of software development - they even find it fun. In this course we will introduce advanced theories about design, development and management of IT based systems and applications in an organizational context. The overall question raised in the course is: How can an organizations gain a competitive edge in implementing,
developing and using
IT?

The main teaching methods are
lectures and discussions in class.
During class time the students work with cases to apply the theory. To facilitate the learning process and to inspire the students, representatives from industry who work in relevant areas will present their ideas. Also researchers from the department will present their research. |
