Learning Objectives
The student must be able to:
  • analyze and evaluate a company's external accounts, as well as basic knowledge of budgeting for an enterprise's internal accounting.
  • assess the firm's investment decisions, including a description of the payment sequences and methods for assessing profitability and risk in investments
  • explain fully comprehensive on corporate finance, including funding sources and basic methods for the assessment of funding
Prerequisite
Regulary examination: Oral examination based on individual essay. Theme of the essay will be handed out. The essay must include: Problem area, problem statement, definitions and methodology.

Examination
An oral exam based on an individual written essay. The theme of the essay will be handed out. The essay must include: Problem area, problem statement, definitions and methodology.

The oral examination will focus on the analysis and conclusion. During the oral exam the student may also be questioned about other subjects from the syllabus (including Managerial Economics I).

Length for preparation of the essay: 72 hours
Length of essay: Maximum 5 standard pages
Duration of oral exam: 20 minutes including assesment

Examination language: English

The assessment is an overall assessment of the written essay and oral examination.

Make-up/re-examination:
If the student has prepared and delivered a written essay for the regular exam, but was ill during the oral exam; then the make-up-exam will be based on the already submitted essay.
If the student due to illness has not submitted a written essay for the ordinary exam then the make-up-exam will be like the ordinary exam.
If the student did not pass the regular exam, the student has to submit a new essay and attend an oral exam.
Course Content
  • The student knows and can apply the fundamentals of business economic theory and method, with the objective to analyze and classify rational decision making in specific decision situations, taking into account the limitations and the organization's short-term and long-term objective regardless of the type of business and industry.
  • To provide understanding prerequisites for qualified decision making in a company's various functional areas including sales, marketing, production and costs.

• Workshops where theory is presented and attempted to be use on case studies and assignments.
• Classroom exercises in which theory is applied through using various tasks.

Det er ønskeligt, men ikke et krav, at den studerende har fulgt EOK-studiets kursus i Managerial economics I på 1. semester, da Managerial economics II bygger videre på Managerial economics I.
