Teaching methods | |||||||||||||||||
Teaching methods are a mix of lectures and group work guided by cooperative learning principles that engage each student to a maximum extent. The languages of instruction are: Japanese to continuously stimulate and develop the student’s spoken fluency and listening comprehension, and English to talk about grammar and to translate texts. Active involvement in class discussion and activities is expected of all participants, so students should come to class prepared to contribute. We encourage the students to form study groups. Teaching is based on textbooks as well as audio input corresponding to a lower intermediate level. | |||||||||||||||||
