Course content
The EngAGE – Entrepreneurship course is designed to mix theoretical research based academic insight linking it to the practice of entrepreneurship. We do this with three key goals in mind, First, global entrepreneurship needs to be dynamic and be able to mix the entrepreneurs innovative potential, with leadership and drive the enterprise. Second, the entrepreneur needs to be culturally aware and look for markets on the boundaries of culture and markets and third the a global entrepreneur is as much about taking advantage of local knowledge as much it is about tapping the global knowledge pool for driving business, we will in this part of the program focus on the entrepreneur as a leader, as an innovator and someone that inspires others to work with him without the certeinties of reward.
Teaching methods
The EngAGE entrepreneurial module will focus on three main methods of teaching, First a normal lecture method, where the lecturer will use ppt when required to share knowledge in a lecture mode. The second will be seminars where the participants will work on mock entrepreneurship role play where the class will focus on the key features of entrepreneurship and innovation. The mock class hours are designed to focus on experience with the aim to imbibing a sense of entrepreneurship in diversity from a global context. The mock play will be based on case studies and students are expected to take active part in each of the mock play. Third, a form of short class debate will be the final way of sharing research based knowledge. Note these three forms of instruction will be used in combination and not in isolation.
