Course content | |||||||||||||||||
The course provides a comprehensive introduction to the technology, development and management of business information systems. The course assumes no prior knowledge of IS or IT. The new concepts and terms are defined as clearly as possible, with comprehensive explanations. In this fast-moving area, the course covers both the crucial underpinnings of the subject as well as the most recent business and technology applications. The course covers the following subjects:

The course will be taught as a set of 14 double lectures. The theoretical and conceptual contents will be supplemented with: • international case studies from a wide variety of sectors • self-assessment exercises, essay and discussion questions to engage the students and encourage critical thinking and reflection • online supporting resources including web links, extra cases, and multiple-choice questions for reinforcement and revision Use of e-learning: The course will be taught face-to-face, but the students are encouraged to use the above described online resources |
