Learning objectives
|
|
The students will develop competencies in SCM problem solving by application of relevant SCM theories and methodologies of practical or theoretical problems. The students will further gain knowledge of handling an empirical problem solving process in relation to relevant stakeholders. Finally, the students are trained in academic critical reflection upon SCM theories, methodology and practices.

The assessment is external and consists of a written report of max. 40 pages per group. The project report is written in groups but the oral exam is individual. At the oral exam the written report is used as basis for the discussion. The final gradefor the courseisacomprehensive assessment ofthe written andoral performance.The deadline for submission of the project, which is regarded as examination registration, is stipulated in the programme guidance notes. Individual oral exam based on a written project report of max. 40 pages prepared in groups of max. 4 students. In the oral exam, the written report is used as basis for the discussion.

Course content
|
|
The course consists of two introduction lectures which are followed by empircal business project work. The students are encouraged to carry out case studies, to analyse and reflect upon various SCM issues in practice, and develop analytical, design and implementation competences . During the work, students will receive insight to a real-life supply chain problem setting, its boundaries and requirements for solving specifc supply chain problems. The students are expected to identify the research topic as well as company contacts themselves. The project is further expected to include the development of theory-driven research design, student-driven project management, and a feedback-loop from practical finding to theory.
