Learning objectives
Microeconomics applies economic methods in the economic decision‐making
process.
After having followed the course the students should be able to:
 Make decisions using economic theory
 Describe and use simple microeconomic models
 Explain the relationship between microeconomics, economic theory and
decision science
 Identify the main subject areas in microeconomics, and explain how they
are related to each other

Make-up exam/re-exam
Same examination form as the ordinary exam
If the number of registered candidates for the make-up examination/re-take examination warrants that it may most appropriately be held as an oral examination, the programme office will inform the students that the make-up examination/re-take examination will be held as an oral examination instead.
Description of the exam procedure
Four-hour open-book written examination. The students’ performance will be assessed according to the 7-point grading scale by the teacher and an external censor.

The concept of the Firm, Demand theory, Production and Cost theory, Market structure and pricing.
Teaching methods
Lectures, tutorial sessions, workshops and exercises.
Further Information

As an introduction to the basics of economics, the course provides the prerequisite for all the subsequent economics courses in the BLC program. The course is simultaneously offered to ASP students as the mandatory introduction to economics.
