Learning objectives
When completing the course the students must demonstrate ability to:
  • Apply the different models and theories presented in the course in the analysis of organisational issues
  • Explain and compare the different models and theories presented in the course, as well as discuss their strengths and weaknesses when applied to selected examples / empirical cases
Examination
Organisation:
Examination form Oral exam based on written product

In order to participate in the oral exam, the written product must be handed in before the oral exam; by the set deadline. The grade is based on an overall assessment of the written product and the individual oral performance.
Individual or group exam Group exam, max. 5 students in the group
The students write a synopsis in groups of 2-5 students, and hand in the synopsis 3 weeks before the oral exam.

Individual oral exam in curriculum based on a group synopsis and the grade is based on an overall assessment. However, in such a way that
it is predominantly the oral presentation, which is the basis for grading.

Make-up exam:
If the student has produced and handed in the required synopsis, but fallen ill at the ordinary oral examination, the examination will be based upon the previously handed in synopsis.

Re-exam:
If the student did not pass the oral exam, then the re-exam will take place as the ordinary exam
Course content and structure
The primary aim of the course is to equip the students with theories and models which enable them to understand and analyze organisational issues related to groups and teams in organisations, the relationship between the individual and the organisation, organisational structure, and management in organisations. The course seeks to use relevant case material, allowing the students to see how the various theories and models can be used to generate insights into organisations.
Teaching methods
Teaching methods consist of lecture, and tutorials where the students work with exercises with relevant cases, both individually and in groups. In week 41 and 46 the students will complete and hand-in 3 pages assignments in groups of 3 students.
