With Corporate Finance Theory as
context the student is expected to be able to:
- Identify, explain, discuss and apply the core concepts, models
and methods
- Calculate, interpret and compare financial prices, returns and
costs
- Elaborate, present and discuss solutions for financial decision
problems

Exam guidelines:
The written exam takes place on CBS computers
• Graphs can be written by hand
• Students have access to their personal files (S-drive on CBS
network)
• Students do NOT have access to Internet, LEARN, and other
services from CBS (except their personal S-drive on CBS network)
• Students are not allowed to bring personal electronic devices to
the exam, except a non-programmable calculator. |

If the number of registered candidates for the make-up
examination/re-take examination warrants that it may most
appropriately be held as an oral examination, the programme office
will inform the students that the make-up examination/re-take
examination will be held as an oral examination
instead.

Course content and
structure |
The course covers the core aspects of
Corporate Finance theory. Special focus is on capital budgeting,
financial instruments, portfolio theory and, capital structure
decisions. The course provides a financial background in Finance
for a professional career based on the bachelor degree as well as
for further academic studies. |
Teaching methods |
The pedagogical method is a
combination of lectures, exercises and an individual home work
assignment. A satisfactory high outcome of the exercises requires
an active participation with basis in the literature and the
lectures. The home work assignment is an integrated part of the
learning process and not only a part of the exam. |

Expected literature |
Brealey, Myers and Marcus,
Fundamentals of Corporate Finance, 7th edition (or
newer), McGraw-Hill, or another well acknowledged Corporate Finance
textbook for a first course in Corporate Finance. Supplemental
materials will be available on Learn or as in hard
copy. |
