Learning objectives | |||||||||||||||||||||
This course prepares students for
realizing their entrepreneurial potential, either as entrepreneurs
or as key-employees in smaller organizations.
During the course students are expected to develop the ability to critically analyse and discuss theory, approaches and concepts in connection with entrepreneurship and innovation in small companies – and apply the theoretical knowledge on real-life cases in an entrepreneurial environment.

It’s a requirement that the student
has completed a relevant bachelor’s degree. Students from
Cand.Soc.Oie. are however not allowed to participate.

Course content and structure | |||||||||||||||||||||
The course consists of an internship
in a real start-up company, where the students work part-time (paid
or unpaid) during the semester. It’s the responsibility of the
students to find such a company, and it’s a requirement to pass the
course that an internship has been completed. The instructors will
also assist the students in getting contact to interested start-up
companies.
Via the internship the students get real-life experience in working in a start-up environment and using the theories/concepts learned during the “From Good Idea To Venture” elective, by solving specific tasks for the start-up company. This will give the student new perspectives on the theories learnt in class and be able to compare theory and practice within entrepreneurship. An important side benefit of the internship is the personal network that the student builds by working together with entrepreneurs. A network that strengthens the students’ future possibilities - and might be the ticket to a future job in a start-up company. |

Teaching methods | |||||||||||||||||||||
During the internship one of the CBS
instructors will be assigned to each student as supervisor, who
will give guidance to the development of the project report used in
the exam.
It’s an additional requirement that the student follow the course “From good idea to venture”. The elective can either be taken during the same semester as the internship, or have been previously completed by the student. |
