Learning objectives
After having completed the bachelor project, students can:
  • Independently formulate and justify research questions.
  • Select, combine and apply relevant concepts and theories in relation to specified research questions.
  • Select and use relevant quantitative and qualitative methods to answer such research questions.
  • Identify and retrieve relevant data/information.
  • Formulate and present (orally and in writing) coherently argued answers, combining theory, methodology and data, to the research question posed.
  • Reflect critically on the quality of the answers produced.

Examination form Oral exam based on written product

In order to participate in the oral exam, the written product must be handed in before the oral exam; by the set deadline. The grade is based on an overall assessment of the written product and the individual oral performance.
Individual or group exam Group exam, max. 4 students in the group
The exam is an individual oral defence based on the written group project.
• 4 students: max. 120 pages
• 3 students: max. 80 pages
• 2 students: max. 60 pages
• 1 student: max. 45 pages

Written product to be submitted on specified date and time.
30 min. per student, including examiners' discussion of grade, and informing plus explaining the grade

The student’s spelling and writing skills are taken into consideration in the overall assessment of the examination performance, but the academic content is given the highest weight.
Regulations regarding the summary The summary can be written in English or in a Scandinavian language (Danish, Swedish or Norwegian) The summary counts for about 5% of the grading.

Re-exam when the ordinary exam is failed is an individual oral exam (30 minutes per student) based on the original report and a 5 to 10 standard page supplement.

Make-up exam when ill at the ordinary exam is an individual oral exam (30 minutes per student) based on the original report.

Make-up exam when ill during the writing of the project is the same as the ordinary exam.
Course content and structure
This capstone project is the conclusion of the BSc in international Business and Politics. It is an independent project, written with a faculty advisor, and students can pursue their own interests within the broad area of international business and politics. Projects can pursue a purely theoretical question, or they can focus on an action- or policy-oriented problem, or they can pose problems that combine such elements. A mandatory project seminar is part of the faculty guidance.
