Learning objectives
Aim of the course is to provide a real-life experience in the form of a consulting report, researched and written by a team of junior consultants (students). The student should apply the analytical skills acquired during the first year on a problem of relevance to a company or an organisation.

The business project is written in the course of one month. The project takes place in May/June. Groups are formed of two or three students. The size of the project must not exceed 30 pages for groups of 2. For groups of 3 the size of the project must not exceed 45 pages. The department provides each group with a supervisor.

The aim of the course is to:
  • provide the participants with an in-depth knowledge in areas of finance, economics, and corporate strategy
  • train the participants with respect to writing a report within a limited time period based on teamwork

Description of the exam procedure
The project is conducted in groups over a period of 1 month with 2 or 3 students per group. For groups of 2 the report must not exceed 30 standard pages excluding appendices. For groups of 3 the report must not exceed 45 standard pages excluding appendices. As each student receives an individual grade, each group member must identify the exam sections he/she has authored. The deadline for handing in the project is in June and will be announced by the programme secretary. If the student was ill during the exam period or did not pass the regular exam a new project must be handed in to a new deadline in September/October announced by the programme secretary. The make-up/re-exam report can be written individually or in groups (provided that other students are taking the make-up/re-exam).
