Description of the exam procedure
The student will give a short presentation of the synopsis (2 minutes) and will then engage in a discussion on the topic(s) addressed in the synopsis. In the oral exam relevant part of the mandatory readings in the course will be included.
Course content and structure
Robots are taking over still more tasks in companies and public sector. Operations in hospitals are being perfomed by robots. Restaurants are deploying robots to replace serrvice personnel. Vacuum cleaning is being robotized.
The key ambition in this course is to bring the managers of the future in line with this technology wave and addressing how managers can respond to this technology armada invading our organizations.
The course gives the students insight in how mature  technologies can  automate operations and replace manual work in a variety of the fields within the service and industry sectors.
The cases presented includes restaurants,  the marketing function, health care and educational sector, where automation and robots are rapidly being introduced.
Looking across these areas, students are trained to address robots from a management centric view.
Teaching methods
There will be presentations in the class from companies and public organizaations using robots.
This course is a power point free zone. Instead we will use a variety of other technologies to connect to cases and demonstration of new technologes in business.
Students will have to upload their synopsis draft at the Learn platform.
