Mastering knowledge and company wide
collaboration with Enterprise social media!
How do we enable company-wide collaboration and the flow of knowledge in global organizations with enterprise social media? Knowledge Management has a bad track record. In many years we have perceived knowledge as a product that could be contained for later use. The codification of knowledge is based on a premise that “If we can save it, we can find it, and use it again”. That is far from true, and many knowledge management systems has failed due to this believe. At this course we discuss a new strategy for “knowledge flow”. We take a new look on the subject through the lenses of the theories from “Managing flow - The process theory of the knowledge based firm” [Nonaka, 2010] and "Enterprise 2.0" [McAfee, 2010] Combining the view of knowledge as process with the use of Emergent Social System Platforms the course will focus on answering the question on how we enable mass collaboration and the flow of phronetic knowledge or "practical widsom" in global organization, dependent on the succesfulle adoption and diffusion of new knowledge sharing and collaboration processes, enabled by technology. Lectures will be based on themes like:

Teaching methods | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
Workshops and problem based learning
We begin with: What is the problem? Is it a problem? Why is it a problem? How can we design solutions to the problem? In most lectures we will meet Danish companies with global issues, (virtual or physical present) presenting us with real problems within the theme, giving the organizations an opportunity to formulate a problem, that we will try to understand and articulate in light of theory, and - if possible – come up with solutions and advice. |
