After completing the course, students should be
able to demonstrate:
- A comprehensive knowledge of the issues, institutions, and
actors involved in the topic in question,
- knowledge and understanding of theories and concepts that are
relevant to analysis of the issue,
- ability to link the theories to the empirical material in a
methodologically reflexive manner.

In order to participate in the oral exam, the written product

grade is based on an overall assessment of the written product and
the individual oral performance. |

Course content and structure |
The course focuses on a specialized topic in
international political economy (for example but not limited to the
politics of business standards, political risk, the politics of
international finance, global growth strategies, or the management
of international organizations). The course covers theories that
are relevant to the analysis of the topic and empirical material.
The topic is decided by the Study Board and announced by the Board
by the end of October. The topic can change from year to year and
the Board can offer more than one topic in a year. |
