Learning objectives |
To achieve the grade 12, students
should meet the following learning objectives with no or only minor
mistakes or errors: At the end of the course students should be
able to:
- Describe and discuss key institutional structures of the
EU.
- Describe and explain basic theories of EU integration.
- Formulate a simple research question and analyze changes in EU
policies or institutions, and assess their impact on business
opportunities in the EU.
- Show analytical proficiency in handling research questions and
in supporting theory-driven arguments with relevant empirical
evidence.

Course content and
structure |
The course provides the students with an understanding of how
the economic and business environment is changing in the European
Union due to the single market and other business related policies
and how these changes lead to new kinds of constraints and
opportunities for business. The course should provide students with
1) a basic understanding of integration theories; 2) an
understanding of the development of the EU and 3) an understanding
of key policy issues in the EU, major institutional players and
their (potential) impact on the business environment and the
EU´s economy.
