Learning objectives
To achieve the grade 12, students should meet the following learning objectives with no or only minor mistakes or errors: At the end of the course, the student must be able to apply psychological perspectives, solving problems and make recommendations on commercial issues. At the exam, the students should be able to:
  • Identify specific phenomena or problems in the context of business and organisations relevant for a psychological perspective.
  • Create problem statements and select relevant psychological theory for examining those problem statements.
  • Analyze and discuss problem statements using psychological theory from the course.
  • Make recommendations to deal with specific phenomena or problems in the context of business and organisations relevant for a psychological perspective.

In order to participate in the oral exam, the written product must be handed in before the oral exam; by the set deadline. The grade is based on an overall assessment of the written product and the individual oral performance.

Course content and structure

 

This introductory course examine how psychology has developed from international roots in biology and philosophy to become a science that aims to describe and explain how we think, feel and act. The course provides an overview of the theoretical foundations of psychology and reviews the results of classic studies and current research in the major areas of the field. 
A psychological perspective aims at giving you a broad introduction to the foundational theories of psychology and to develop your ability to describe, analyze, understand and reflect upon psychological issues in the context of business and organizations.
