Course content and structure |
Structure of English is a course in English grammar.
The aim of the course is both theoretical and practical. Students
are thus expected to acquire both a theoretical knowledge of
the grammar of the English language and practical skills within the
field, cf. the description of the course in the programme
curriculum.
Students should:
- acquire a systematic knowledge of English grammar and thus a
frame of reference which can be used as a point of departure in the
other subjects in the programme, and which makes it possible for
students to understand and use the grammatical information provided
in common works of reference
- strengthen their linguistic powers of observation
- improve their ability to perform text revision on texts
produced by others.
