Course content and structure | ||||||||||||||||||||||
The purpose of this course is to provide the student with the knowledge and experience in conducting research with specific focus on solving a business problem. Students will work in groups, with a client (fictitious) and the instructor in completing the research project. The research process or cycle of identifying and defining the problem, collecting primary and secondary data, analyzing the data and reaching conclusions will be completed. The results of these efforts will be presented in written form.
Class 1: Introduction and Overview of Course Class 2: Designing a research proposal Class 3: Developing a research plan: Introduction and Review of Literature (Secondary Data) Class 4: Introduction to Qualtrics, a survey tool Class 5: Creating a research questionnaire: Research Design Class 6: Revising and finalizing the questionnaire feedback activity: A finalized survey created in Qualtrics Class 7:Collecting and processing data: primary data gathering Class 8: Interpreting and reporting results: construct data tables Class 9: Data processing: summarizing and analyzing data Class 10: Continue data processing Class 11: Findings of study, and conclusions and recommendations |

Preliminary Assignment: To help students get maximum value from ISUP courses, instructors provide a reading or a small number of readings or video clips to be read or viewed before the start of classes with a related task scheduled for class 1 in order to 'jump-start' the learning process.
Feedback Activity: A feedback activity defined by the course instructor will take place approx. half-way through the course.
