The course content has two main elements. The largest part of the course presents key concepts and foundations of one of the following fields: (1) tourism and hospitality, (2) arts and culture, and (3) service innovation. Each field represents the study focus for one of the three specializations in the SEM program. The course provides a succinct yet comprehensive introduction to each specialization and field of study, by giving a general overview of service industries and their development. The course discusses the importance of services in the context of each field of study (see 1, 2, 3 above) and critically examines relevant research methods and data sources.
